Step 4

Warm Water
Hydrotherapy

Length of Session: 3-10 Minutes Daily

How It Works

Soothe your muscles and achieve peace of mind with warm water hydrotherapy sessions at RESET.

After an exhilarating plunge in the cold water tub, it’s time to hop in the warm water hydrotherapy tub. We keep our hot tubs around 104 degrees to give you the best experience possible — these tubs also feature massaging jets to target common problem areas. We find that time in the hot tub has the best effect between ice bath sessions. The soothing water helps loosen your muscles and stimulate blood flow before you take another plunge in the cold.

Benefits

Choose warm water hydrotherapy for better relaxation, an elevated mood, and faster recovery from your exercise routine.

The time you spend in our hot tubs can erase muscle tension, joint pain, and stress. Warm water therapy supports recovery in three significant ways: heat, buoyancy, and massage. The warmer temperature alleviates muscle tension and works great to soothe pain from chronic conditions. Buoyancy works against gravity to decompress your joints and increase mobility. Additionally, massaging jets target major muscle groups to encourage tissue repair through increased blood flow.

Relaxation

Warm water hydrotherapy combines buoyancy and heat with massaging jets to amplify muscle relaxation and relieve joint pressure. Time in the hot tub also balances your autonomic nervous system to quiet your mind and encourage a calming sensation.

Sitting in the hot tub reduces physical stress by alleviating muscle tension and encouraging slower breathing, which lowers cortisol levels and reduces mental stress. This combination provides natural stress relief that calms your body and mind.

Hot tub therapy helps regulate your sleep-wake cycle by raising your core body temperature and allowing it to drop after you leave the tub. Lower stress levels and increased relaxation will help improve sleep quality and duration.

Soaking in warm water dilates blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more freely. This dilation also improves oxygen distribution throughout your body and makes it possible for your heart to pump with less effort.

Besides muscle relaxation and joint relief, hot tub sessions release endorphins that act as your body’s natural painkillers. Increased circulation from warm water exposure aids in metabolic waste removal to enhance pain relief.

Enhanced circulation, metabolic waste removal, and tissue repair from submerging in soothing warm water accelerate muscle recovery. Warm water hydrotherapy even speeds up lactic acid removal to decrease recovery times.

Better sleep, reduced stress levels, and less pain work together to enhance your overall mental state. You have time to disconnect from daily life and let yourself exist in the moment during warm water hydrotherapy sessions.

Vasodilation caused by warm water hydrotherapy reduces your blood pressure by alleviating tension on blood vessel walls. Hot tub sessions make your veins more flexible, which keeps blood pressure low.

Warm water hydrotherapy releases natural mood enhancers like dopamine and serotonin while decreasing stress-inducing cortisol and epinephrine. The physical relief from a soak in the hot tub is also a great mood booster.

Choose What Works

Warm water hydrotherapy is your ticket to relaxation — and you can choose how to include it in your RESET sessions. We like a cold/hot/cold approach, but some members prefer to make warm water hydrotherapy the last stop of the day.

We have rinse showers to help you wash off the sweat from the infrared sauna or LED red light therapy sessions before using hydrotherapy modalities.

Absolutely! We prefer the cold/hot/cold sandwich method to end a session, but ending your session on a high note with the hot tub is more than fine.
